Dionne Gaynor-Seepersad, LCSW

I work exclusively with adults (21+) as they challenge the ebbs and flows of anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, chronic illness, coupling relationships, grief and life transitions. I am sex-positive and treat individuals in alternative loving relationships. I will employ a strengths-based approach to mental health rooted in unconditional positive regard, meeting people where they are, and self-determination. I am a proponent of self-care and see it integral to mental health stability.

I understand that treatment interventions are not one size fits all and will often use multiple within a session. Some of the treatment modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Reality Therapy (RT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Structural Family Therapy (SFT).

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) who receives weekly clinical supervision. I am working toward obtaining Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) status in the Fall of 2025. I hold an MSW focused on Advanced Clinical Practice from Walden University and a BS in Counseling with minors in Micro Human Services and Psychology from Lesley University.

Social work is a mid-life career change that complements 25+ years of experience in healthcare which I consider an asset to my clinical practice. “I believe we all have the ability to create a new narrative despite the negative lived experiences in our rear-view mirror.”

In my free time, I knit, paint, write, and spend time with a small group of life-long friends. I am an avid documentary viewer and Grammie to two 11-year-old “purr” babies.
