Gemma Carr-Locke, Ed.M
Hi I'm Gemma, and I'm here to support you as you move toward healing, self-discovery, and growth.
I am a Master’s-level clinician working toward licensure, providing therapy to adolescents (14+) and adults. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and self-esteem concerns, life transitions, school stress, and relationship challenges who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to manage their emotions and are seeking a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental space to feel heard and understood. My goal is to help clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and develop confidence, self-advocacy, and healthy boundaries.
I take a strengths-based, client-centered, and collaborative approach, emphasizing a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful work. I integrate CBT, solution-focused techniques, and psychoanalytic approaches, along with creative interventions, role-play, and perspective-taking. I maintain structure and clear boundaries while remaining flexible, curious, and responsive to each client’s needs.
I became a therapist because I believe people deserve a space where they feel seen, supported, and not alone. My goal is to help clients feel empowered to explore themselves and move toward meaningful change at their own pace.
I hold a B.A. in Dance Movement Studies and Psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and an Ed.M. in Counseling, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling from Boston University. Outside of the therapy office, I am always moving! Movement has long been a meaningful source of physical and emotional expression and remains an important part of both my personal and professional identity.
If you’re considering starting therapy, I welcome you to reach out when you’re ready.
