Katie Pieterse, EdM
Hi, I’m Katie, a master’s level counselor who is passionate about helping people feel seen, heard, and truly understood. I come from a place of empathy, authenticity, and respect, creating a safe space where you can explore your challenges and goals without judgment. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—offering support, evidence-based tools, and a collaborative relationship to help you move toward the changes you want to see. I have experience working with college students, athletes, adults, teens, and high-performing individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, burnout, relationship issues, identity concerns, grief, and trauma. My approach is inclusive, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client’s unique strengths, needs, and story.
I combine my clinical expertise with a deep knowledge of performance psychology. As a former Yale student-athlete and a mental performance consultant in training, I understand the pressure of chasing big goals while feeling like you have to keep it all together. I know the demands of high performance can be both exciting and overwhelming, and having the right support can make all the difference. Together, we’ll explore what excellence means to you, develop awareness as a foundation for growth, and create strategies that feel sustainable, not draining. I will help you work on personal reflection, goal setting, and integrate emotional, relational, and cultural factors to cultivate resilience and confidence in your performance domains and daily life. For me, success isn’t about chasing a perfect ideal—it’s about growing into your best self over time, with intention, balance, and the confidence that comes from having someone in your corner.
