Matt Beauchesne, MA

My name is Matt (he/him/his), I am a pre-Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology from Boston College. My therapeutic approach is candid, conversational, and collaborative. I believe building a strong relationship is the first step to helping you navigate life’s challenges, and I like to do that by bringing authenticity, humor, and humility into the therapy room.

I have experience treating a wide variety of age groups and diagnoses, including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety and panic attacks, ADHD, Autism Spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders, PTSD, Mood and Personality Disorders, and more. I draw from evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Cultural Theory, Psychodynamic Theories, Narrative Therapy, and more, based on your individual needs and feedback. I also have interest and experience in sports and performance psychology.

I ground my practice in identity-affirming care, informed by experience working with diverse clients and guided by an awareness of both individual experiences and the systemic influences that impact marginalized communities. I am committed to creating a welcoming and affirming space for people of all racial, gender, and sexual identities.

In my free time I am an avid Boston sports fan, I like participating in recreational sports leagues with friends and spending time in Maine with family. I look forward to meeting you and exploring your strengths and goals as we work together toward the changes you hope to achieve!
