Sarah Bowlby, LCSW

My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to share, empowered to be your authentic self, and supported through your journey. Together we will explore your unique strengths and goals and create a strategy to get you feeling better.

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and work with couples and individual adults aged 21+. I have had the opportunity to help clients with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, mood instability, substance misuse, grief, and trauma. Intervention techniques I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I use a mixed method approach to therapy based on what works best for you.

I am a lifelong learner and hope to pursue my doctorate in the future. My research is in Spiritual and Religious Abuse and how best to help clients heal from this complex form of trauma. I have earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Simmons University, a Masters degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Suffolk University. In my free time I watch trash TV, hang out with friends and family, swim, snuggle my cat Shasta, go for walks, eat good food, and take naps.
